Tiffany Haddish made her return to the Monse runway following her unexpected viral appearance at last year's New York Fashion Week show.
On Sunday (February 9), Haddish took the catwalk at this year's Monse show after she was dared by Kathy Hilton to crash the runway during 2024 New York Fashion Week. Haddish donned a black asymmetrical top, a flowing top, and a tailored blazer as she took the runway this year.
Sunday's show comes after Haddish sat front row at the Monse runway show alongside Hilton and her daughters, Paris and Nicky, last September. Video went viral of Kathy daring Haddish to crash the runway before a round of models took the catwalk.
"Do it now?" Haddish asked.
“Yes, now go. There’s nothing going on,” Hilton said as she snapped her fingers.
The comedian then got up from her seat and walked the runway in her green satin pantsuit. The Hiltons and other front-row guests applauded and laughed as Haddish strutted down the runway.
Social media users were critical of Hilton's runway dare to Haddish.
"It's giving they tried to embarrass her..." one person commented.
"Some people gotta learn the difference between laughing at you versus with you," another user wrote.
"White rich lady tells her to do it and she does it thinking it's cute," a third person said.
Following the controversy, Monse addressed the incident in a statement.
"At Monse Tiffany Haddish and Kathy Hilton are family, and the best sign of love and support is showing that we all were having fun by joining in on the show," a spokesperson said. "We are very lucky to have friends like them, and hope they open and close our show next season."
