Family and friends are reeling from the loss of two brothers who jumped off the famous bridge on Martha's Vineyard that was featured in Jaws.

Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe confirmed to NBC Boston that brothers Tavaris Bulgin, 26, and Tavaughn Bulgin, 21, went missing Sunday (August 14) after taking a plunge from "Jaws Bridge" in Massachusetts.

According to reports, Tavaris' body was found Monday (August 15), while Tavaughn remains missing.

Officials temporarily halted the search for the remaining missing brother on Tuesday (August 16) due to hazardous conditions, and will "assess weather conditions on a day-to-day basis to determine when conditions are safe for divers to resume," per The Boston Globe.

"It doesn't seem real," family friend Marsha Green told NBC Boston. "It was really a surreal thing to hear."

According to reports, Jamaica natives Tavaris and Tavaughn had rented a house in Martha's Vineyard as they worked at a local restaurant this summer.

The brothers were among four people who jumped off the bridge and struggled in the current to reach shore, O'Keefe said.

A vigil for Tavaris and Tavaughn was held in Clarendon, Jamaica on Monday following the devasting tragedy, per The Jamaica Gleaner.

Green said the two victims' parents "are in absolute shock" over the loss.

"They had to actually be taken to the hospital in Jamaica when they found out," she told the outlet.

Green claims the two weren't intoxicated but "just out to have a good time," when they jumped off the American Legion Memorial Bridge featured in Jaws.

A GoFundme started for the brothers' family says Tavaris "was a beloved school teacher" and Tavaughn was both "a musical prodigy" and "gifted" athlete.

"They leave an unforgettable mark on the community of Martha's Vineyard, their hometown of Clarendon, and the entire country of Jamaica," the GoFundMe reads in part.
